Microsoft Word icon runs over all the programs in my PC and whenever I open it, it asks me for a converter. How can I solve this problem?

You will need to reset all the file associations. You can either right click the file and select Open With then choose the correct application and tick the option to always open such files with the selected application. This will fix the problem with the wrongly associated file formats and applications.
