I have an Asus Eee PC 1005HA netbook. 2 days back everything was fine, but now all of a sudden E-cam stopped working. When I open the program the LED shines for just a moment and the computer makes the USB plugged unplugged sound and then nothing happens, the screen remains blank. Asus support center won't help me because I don't have the box with product serial number (I bought it from someone, not from the company directly) Additionally, I've updated / re-installed the drivers even updated the BIOS, checked the cam status from the system command, it says everything enabled device manager says it's working properly, but it isn't. The PC is useless for me without the webcam. How can I fix it?

In order to fix this problem, you can try to restore your PC to a previous version. It's possible that you installed some programs that interfere with the webcam. If you don't have set up a restore point, try to uninstall all the recently installed programs one by one. After each uninstall, perform a reboot and after each reboot try to use the webcam. If this doesn't fix your problem, you might encounter a hardware malfunction. In this case, the only thing that you can do is to take your computer to a service for further investigation.
