Can you advise how I can handle .dvf files?

Can any application handle the obsolete .dvf format? If not, can you advise how I can handle .dvf files? Sony Digital File Editor is not supported by Windows 7. I am willing to buy a new Sony recorder, but can you help with reading my old files. Will I have to convert to another format like MP3?

The DVF format is proprietary which means it can be opened only by Sony applications. However, there is a way to open them using Microsoft Windows Media Player with Sony Player plugin. You can download the plug-in from the official website of Sony. There is no other application able to open the DVF files. Sony Digital Voice Editor is actually required to open the file. Access the website to download it then you can open the DVF files.
