How is it possible to provide Student Version of Minitab (version 14) for free?

Isn't there a copyright violation in offering the free download of MINITAB 14?

Yes, there is because the application is not free. However, if you are a student, you can get in touch with your faculty's director to establish a possible purchase for the application. Or you will need to buy it for 29.99 $ from the official website.
