If you cannot print in color mode, it means that the printer is not configured to print in color mode when the tank turned empty. The easiest way to fix this is to access the Printing preferences from any application which has File > Print menu. Select Print then access Properties for your current printer and make sure to select the color mode as well then, printer will print normally. It's best to also print a test page. You can do this from the EPSON support application installed during the driver installation.
