The BAK files are used to store backups of the files opened. Go to File > Open and then locate the BAK files. Select one, press F2, and add .123 instead of .bak. The files are actually .123 files that are saved as a temporary solution if the main file gets corrupted or deleted. Renaming the file will store the original file and its contents.
