Yes, typically you should be able to read the files on the CD, but if the software has been changed in terms of structure and operating mode, then recovery won't be possible. This application is used on Linux, without Windows support which means you've probably used something else to backup. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the version of Simple Backup used to create the backup at that time.
