ACS ChemWorx Desktop does not run on Windows XP.

The program does not run on my PC (Windows XP, 2GB RAM) - apparently due to failing Java Virtual Machine. I tried to increase JVM heap size by modifying environment settings (set JAVAOPTIONS -Xmx512M), but it did not help.

Message/Pop-up window title:

Java Virtual Machine Launcher
Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.

I would like to recommend to perform a fresh installation of Java and by fresh I mean to completely wipe it off your system. For this operation, I recommend using Revo Uninstaller. It will force it to uninstall by wiping out all traces of its presence from the system.

Additionally, use CCleaner to remove the registry entries left after the uninstall.
