Could I have some clarification of the LOOXIS Faceworx software?

Question

I would like to know the following info before I download the software:

1. Is the software appropriate if I would like to convert a 2D photo into 3D model?
2. If I have only one photo, will I still be able to convert it to a 3D model with some manual work?
3. How easy is it to learn the software?

Looxis Faceworks is a tool to create a 3D figure from 2 pictures. You have to use the virtual face the program gives you and make it coincide with the one from your pictures by simply dragging some nodes. It has been attempted and successfully achieved to create a 3D figure with only one image. The program is easy to use and has a very intuitive interface that anybody can learn. What is the construction method of this software? For example, is the rendered image modelled onto a 3D mesh that is derived from laser scans of real faces - so called 3DMM approach?
