To set up the printer, first download the driver for your operating system. You can do this using the HP Support website. Download the package and install it and when the installer asks, plug the printer to a USB cable then follow the instructions. It may be possible that you need to restart the computer to finish the installtion. After the computer boots, start the support application from the desktop and you can then begin printing.
