RealPlayer uses online streaming to deliver the updates. This means that if you click Free Download on the official website, the computer will download a stub application that when it's launched the rest of the files will be downloaded. Go to Control Panel and access Internet Options. Select Connections > LAN and remove any proxies that might be set up. Alternatively, disable the firewall or add the downloader to the exclusion list then download again.
