Once you have found the record through the lookup, simply double click it and you should be taken to the exact location of the file. If you're accessing the file through the application's interface, then right click it and choose Browse. This should take you to the exact location of the file on the disk. Delete the file, then perform the lookup again. If you find the software after the lookup, restart the whole application and it shouldn't appear anymore.
