In order to fix the issue, navigate to Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound and open Device Manager. Expand the Floppy disk controllers list, right-click the driver and select Uninstall. Reboot your computer, press Scan for hardware changes icon from Device Manager and wait for Windows to retrieve the drivers. After that, insert the diskette in the floppy disk drive and try again. If it doesn't work, uninstall the software and then reinstall it.
