Connecting a wireless mouse to a new receiver

I'm trying to connect my Logitech LZ704BJ to a new wireless receiver on my computer through the Unifying software, but it doesn't seem to work. Is there any other way to get the mouse to work?

There is an online video released by Logitech which explains all the steps how to connect a device to Unifying received. There is also a FAQ which contains the same information but with images instead of a video streaming file.
