Whitesmoke Translator is a malware program, which insidiously installs on your computer without your consent. There is a Trojan Virus that plants Whitesmoke on different systems, along with other spyware and malware. In order to get rid of this application, you might first try to uninstall it with Add/Remove programs from your Control Panel, but this procedure only works sometimes. You will receive an error message notifying you that you should first stop a particular .dll process, and only afterward can you hope to remove Whitesmoke.

A more straightforward way to proceed is to use a spyware detection and removal program, such as McAfee Virus and Spyware Protection Service, Spyware Doctor (http://spyware-doctor.software.informer.com/6.0/), Spywareguard (http://spywareguard.software.informer.com/2.2/), or Spyware Terminator (http://spyware-terminator.software.informer.com/2.7/).

A fast and easy solution is:

1 At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button (Tools menu in Windows XP), and then click Add-ons. The Add-ons Manager tab will open.
2. In the Add-ons Manager tab, select the Extensions or Appearance or Plugins panel.
3. Select the add-on you wish to disable.
4. Click the Disable button.
5. Click Restart now if it pops up. Your tabs will be saved and restored after the restart.

PS: This is NOT Whitesmoke Translator. Translator is a legitimate company. The virus crowd used their name as a cover.
