To use the scan feature you need to install the drivers associated with your device. You can obtain these drivers from the Epson Support website. To get the required downloads, input the model number into the search field then you will have the possibility to download utilities and drivers for various versions of Windows, Mac, and Linux. Download the one needed for your operating system then you will have the possibility to scan.
Scanning is also simple: lift the cover, place the item on the glass, and close the cover. Press the SCAN button and then (if the device is connected to the PC) the support application will acquire the scanned item via the TWAIN driver. You will then have the possibility to save the scanned item as PDF, JPG, DOC, etc.
Documents require OCR feature support by your scanner or an application like ABBYY FineReader to complete the operation.
