This error is usually associated with network connection issues. In order to solve it, there are some things that you can try. Make sure that you are connected to stable Internet connection. It is advised to use another connection while you troubleshoot the error. If the error still persists, you can try going to Settings -> Application -> All tab, search and tap on Google Play application and select Clear Cache and then tap on Clear Data. Also, you can try to tap Uninstall Updates and try again. This should fix your problem.
