If you lost your IP address, there is no way to connect your tablet to Internet without it. The tablet asked you again for the IP address because it might got reseted. This is fairly common thing. To recover your IP address, try contacting the administrator of the network that you used. He / She should be able to provide for the IP address. There is no other way to recover it.
