Unfortunately, Canon developed this software to run only on Windows XP and below operating systems. It is not compatible with Windows 8 platforms. However, in order to run it on your computer, I suggest you try Windows 8 Compatibility Mode. Right click on the program icon and go to Properties > Compatibility tab. Check the Run this program in compatibility mode for box and select Windows XP from the drop-down list. Click Apply and then OK. Also, you can contact Canon for further assistance.
