How can I change my Android version 2.3.6 to 4.0.4?

I have a Samsung Galaxy Y phone. I want to change its Android version. Is it possible?

You can't change it because Android 4.0.4 has not been released for this phone. The latest supported version for Samsung Galaxy Y is Android Gingerbread 2.3.5.
