Can you recommend me a photo viewer (not iPhoto or Preview), that can help me crop, rotate photos, etc.?
On Mac Informer application's database you are able to find many programs besides iPhoto or Preview that are free and comes with the features that you need. Moreover, you can find there some shareware applications that are more feature-rich than those freeware.
