Recover data from an encrypted HDD

I had my Toshiba Notebook Satellite C640 with HDD encrypted by Smart DE. The HDD was partitioned into 2. The master partition C drive had Windows 7 installed where D drive had backed up data. Three days back I had to format C drive & re-install Windows 7. Since then I am not able to access the D drive. All my data are gone. Is there any way to get back my data? Any help regarding this will be very much helpful. Thanks!

You cannot recover the encrypted partition because when you had the application installed, it assigned a custom UID to verify the lock. If you install the application again, the partition will be visible under another UID making it incompatible with SDE. I believe you need to format the partition entirely because there is no way you can get its contents back.

I can also propose you an alternate free information recovery software named Recover Data for Windows Data Recovery Software. The Application perform such errands phenomenally and rapidly recover & restore degenerate, damaged files and folder from formatted and re-formatted Windows FAT and NTFS partitions
