Recover data after system crash.

After many years of using Casio PV-S460 with the PC Sync application, my PC crashed, and now when I'm trying to open the PC sync program, it states "Unexpected file format". Although I can still open the software from "new” all the data, contacts and diary have been lost for the file. Is there any way that I can restore or can locate the data, that I was using until today?

The error that you encounter is suggesting that the program can't load your data. This is happening because your saved diaries and files were corrupted when the computer crashed. Unfortunately, there is nothing that you can do to recover that data. The program doesn't have recovery abilities and you can't use other tools because they aren't compatible with this kind of data.

The only best thing to avoid such bottlenecks is to keep backup of important files on a portable HDD / cloud. I have also been using PC Sync for Windows since 1995, but avoided such problems by adopting this policy.
