After you opened the PDF file, select the program from the Start bar by left click on it. After you are sure that it is selected, hold down the Windows key (from your keyboard) and press the Left or Right arrow key from the keyboard. By doing this, the window that is currently selected will move left, right, depending on the button pressed. You should be able to see the window on your first screen.
