Outlines after scanning artwork

I had my own business four years ago and I was able to scan artwork with scanner. I was able to save into Flexiletter using the steps to make it outline, so my plotter could cut the artwork. A user has to be able to select every shape in the artwork by sending each color to the plotter. I can't remember how to do it in Flexiletter 7.6. I was making outlines of my artwork four or five years ago with this same software. I've tried everything, but I just can't remember.

There is a PDF file you can use to get an overview about the outline procedure. The PDF file can be downloaded using the following link.
