After an update of my E220, Maxis Broadband has installed itself. It starts up every time I plug in the modem. I am using Vodafone communication software and do not need any other software, apart from a XP driver. How can I uninstall the Maxis Broadband software? It is read-only and cannot simply be deleted. My laptop is rather old and slow, any extra software makes it even slower.

Try using Revo Uninstaller. Even if it can't uninstall the application normally, it will force it to uninstall by wiping out all traces of its presence from the system.
