I have a large database that is NFO format. I have used it extensively with search functions, on my old PC. I now have a Mac and I would like to continue using the database with the Mac. Can you help me?

In order to use the NFO database on your new computer, I suggest you try installing on your Mac, with the help of CrossOver, the program used to manage the database file. CrossOver is an application which allows you to run Windows programs on Mac without requiring a Windows license. Also in order to use it on your computer, you can try Parallels Desktop, VMware Fusion or VirtualBox. These applications let you run other operating systems on Mac.
