I have X-OOM Music Clean which I've used happily and without problems for many years. I do not use it for music. I record interviews and then I send them via Internet to my supervisor to assess. I usually record in .wav and then convert to .mp3 to reduce the size. Recently (in the past week), I've been unable to convert to .mp3. I get an error message saying: "X-OOM Music Clean cannot save the file C:xxxxxxxxxxxxxetc.mp3. Please make sure that the file is not opened in another application". I've tried saving to a different directory or a USB pen. I've tried copying and renaming (that works OK) and then just editing the file without success. I can save as a .wav but I cannot save (or "Save As") as an .mp3. Can you help?

The application should be able to save the recorded files as .wav, .wma, .ogg, or .mp3. If it is not working properly anymore, just uninstall it and then install it again. Also, before beginning the installation process, try running a registry cleaner to make sure that there are no leftover registry keys in your system. Also, you can convert the files directly to .mp3 using a .wav to .mp3 converter from Software Informer database.
