I have a very old LS420 camera with dock that I have just taken out of the closet after many years. Before upgrading to the latest version of EasyShare software, I attempted to install the version that came with the camera from the original CD-ROM. I was able to do so. But only after uninstalling the current version of QuickTime which was way too modern for my ancient software to work with. Just to move things along, I went ahead an deleted QuickTime and allowed the software to install the old version. Everything worked fine. I was able to transfer images using the dock's one-touch button.
Unfortunately, the old version of QuickTime was incompatible with many other programs - notably iTunes - on my computer. So I decided to upgrade to the latest version of EasyShare software (version 8.2.0.76). It installed perfectly and it works with the latest QuickTime.
The problem is that the new version of EasyShare does not recognize my LS420 camera. It does not show-up on the Transfer Manager and when I ask it to Synchronize, it again says that no compatible devices were found.
Does the latest EasyShare software work with my very old LS420 or will I have to transfer images using Windows Explorer?
