In order to fix the issue, go to Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Device Manager and expand the Mice and other pointing devices list. Locate the driver, select it and press the Delete key. After that, reboot your computer, press Scan for hardware changes icon from Device Manager and wait Windows to retrieve the drivers. If it doesn't help, navigate to your laptop developer's page, identify your computer model, select you operating system and download and install the latest drivers available.
