Socket Error 10013 from MiFiles.

Question

I have several field personnel that access our FTP functions using MiFiles. Many of them have newer machines running Windows 7. One man is getting a "Socket Error 10013"". I can see nothing wrong with his configuration and MiFiles is set up exactly as the others. Other superintendents in that office (using a wireless router) have no problem. What can we do?

In order to fix the Socket Error 10013, go to Start > Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Firewall > Allow a program through Windows Firewall and click Allow another program button. Use the Browse option to navigate to MiFiles installation directory, select its executable file and press Add. After that, go to Windows Firewall, press Advanced Settings and select Inbound Rules. Click New Rule from the right, check the Port box, click Next, enter 137, 138, 139, 445 in the Specific local ports field and click again Next. Check the Allow the connection box, press Next twice and follow the instructions. Also, configure your security program Firewall to allow the MiFiles connection.
