If you use Windows XP or below you can go to Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs. In the Currently installed programs box, click on the HP Backup and Recovery Manager program and then click Remove.
If you have Windows Vista or above you need to go to Start > Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features. Select the HP Backup and Recovery Manager application and click on Uninstall.
If it doesn't work, you can remove the program using Revo Uninstaller. Even if it can't uninstall the application normally, it will force it to uninstall by wiping out all traces of its presence from the system.
After that, install the software again from the CD received when you purchased the laptop. If you no longer have the CD, you need to get in touch with the HP Support Team and request the program, because HP Backup and Recovery Manager is not available for public downloading.
