I'm receiving a "No phone information exists. Make connection in PC Suite Mode and try again in a different mode" error message. What can I do?

I'm receiving an error message saying "No phone information exists. Make connection in PC Suite Mode and try again in a different mode". My Virgin Mobile LG Rumor Touch is not recognized by the program. I paid $160 for this device, and my computer is not able to detect it. What can I do?

You don't need this application to connect the device to your computer. Log in to Windows on an Administrator account, go to Start, type Device Manager and open the utility. Select the Universal Serial Bus controllers, right-click on the related drivers and select Uninstall. After that, restart your computer, connect the device to PC using the USB cable and wait several seconds. Windows will automatically find and install the drivers. Now, go to your phone Main Menu, select Tools, tap the Mass Storage option and press the Connect to PC button.
