My external hard disk has 2 partitions: one in FAT other in EXT2. Due to some problems, the EXT2 partition has been formatted to NTFS. I need to change its file system to EXT2. How can I format it back to EXT2?

You can use Acronis Disk Director to change the file system of the partition. Download and install the application, then connect the drive. Start the application, select the drive and the partition, right click it and you can change its file system. It may require formatting.
