I can't pass the Monastery level.

Question

I'm in the monastery and I cannot find what I need to get Hans out of there and back on the train. I have the coal I needed and I got in the monastery to find Hans delirious in a monk's cold cell. I cannot find the key to open the gate in the chapel. I am guessing I need that. I found the clues in the two large pictures and all the information the talkative little monk can give me, but I cannot get any further. I have started this adventure from the beginning three times and I cannot get any further than the monastery. Can you help me?

In order to pass the Monastery level, I suggest you use Google search engine to find walkthroughts, guides, tips and tutorials that will help you to advance in the game. The third link is a video tutorial with the entire Monastery level. Use it to find out what have you missed.
