Just use Adobe Illustrator and save the file to an older .ai version. You can select this from the Save as window under the File Type drop-down menu, then use Import in Corel. I recommend you this procedure so that Corel recognizes the file you want to Import.
The online conversion will bring only errors as you need, as it's showed above, the conversion to an older version of AI.
