Converting VCR to AVI is a very complicated process because you will need to practically record the VCR playback. If you're playing a game you can use Fraps to record the screen directly in AVI. This is much easier than VCR converting.
The operation is simple: start the application, customize it, start the game and press the shortcut key to register.
