If you inserted another SIM card from a different network, it's most likely it won't work since the phone could possibly be locked to the one network only. For unlocking you need to pay a small amount from the carrier's service. Other than that, since it's an Android-based phone, please go to Settings > Wireless and networks > Mobile Network and perform a scan and choose the right network where the SIM card belongs to.
