I need to play a click track out of Output 1 at the same time as a backing track out of Output 2. I use the option to play the next cue when the first one is activated - but there is a delay of about 140ms! Is there a better way of doing this?

To address the user’s question about reducing the delay when playing multiple tracks simultaneously in Multiplay, consider the following steps:

  • Buffer Settings: Check the audio buffer settings in Multiplay. Sometimes, a smaller buffer size can reduce latency, though it may also increase the chance of audio dropouts if your system can't handle it.

  • Audio Interface: Ensure your audio interface has the latest drivers installed. Dedicated audio interfaces often provide lower latency compared to onboard sound cards.

  • System Resources: Close any unnecessary programs to free up system resources, which might help reduce latency.

  • Synchronized Cueing: Verify if there is an option in Multiplay to more precisely synchronize cue starts, or see if it allows scripting or external control to manually manage more precise timing.

By adjusting these settings, you may be able to achieve better synchronization between the click track and backing track.

To fix playback delays in Multiplay, reduce the audio buffer size, update your audio interface drivers, and close background programs to free resources. Also, use Multiplay’s synchronized cue start or scripting options to ensure multiple tracks start precisely together.
