Why won't EseeCloud (any version) display live video using Win 11 Pro but works using Win 10?

asked by about EseeCloud

EseeCloud for pc (any version) will not display live video but I can hear live audio on any selected camera. I can download unseen video/audio and play it back using VLC as a file. It will not payback using the EseeCloud playback feature. I have a brand new HP laptop running Win 11 Pro and this is the only program that fails. I have tried ALL the usual stuff to include a new install of windows 11, what a fracking waste of time. The vendor, Hiseeu, tells me that since few people use the pc application, they no longer provide support. Sucks to be a new customer. They sent me a website that will allow me to view live video but there is NO DOWNLOAD button to save live video. The website for my purposes is useless. Hiseeu recommended that I keep using my old HP laptop running win 10. Thanks for nothing. I believe it boils down to a codec problem, the video feed is getting to the laptop, but windows can't/won't decode it. The Hiseeu NVR uses H265 to stream video and where it goes from there is not to my screen. I have been in contact with HP, Intel, and Microsoft....I'm not holding my breath. Maybe this will help someone out.

Yup, the ol' NTDLL.DLL screw up. The phone app (android) works great for me. I considered running an emulator under the app but I decided that I really don't want brick my new laptop. So, forget that. So, like a lot of you I'm in the middle of a martian probe and I ain't happy. I wonder why Win 11 Pro won't let me run EseeCloud using the compatibilty feature as Win 10, oh that's right, WINDOWS 10 is not an option. Way to go Microsoft.

The issue you are experiencing with EseeCloud on Windows 11 Pro compared to Windows 10 likely relates to compatibility problems with either the application itself or the codecs it relies on. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and possibly resolve the issue:

  1. Compatibility Mode: Try running the program in compatibility mode for Windows 10. Right-click on the EseeCloud application shortcut, go to 'Properties', then 'Compatibility', and select 'Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows 10'.

  2. Update Drivers: Ensure that your graphics and audio drivers are up to date with the latest versions from the manufacturer's website, as outdated drivers can cause display issues.

  3. Check Codecs: Since you mentioned a potential codec issue, consider installing a codec pack such as K-Lite Codec Pack to ensure the necessary video codecs are available on your Windows 11 system.

  4. Windows Features: Verify that all necessary Windows features (like media features) are enabled. Go to 'Control Panel' > 'Programs' > 'Turn Windows features on or off' and make sure media-related features are checked.

  5. Software Update: Ensure that you have the latest version of EseeCloud installed. If the vendor has stopped updating the application, you may need to look for alternative software compatible with your surveillance system.

  6. Virtual Machine: As a workaround, consider running a virtual machine on your Windows 11 laptop with a Windows 10 environment just for EseeCloud if you continue facing issues.

If none of these suggestions work, you may indeed have to follow Hiseeu's recommendation of using your old Windows 10 machine or search for alternative software solutions compatible with both your cameras and Windows 11.

Howdy,

I have done everything thing you've listed but number 6. Why should i use system resources to emulate a Win 10 machine for ONE application. That is nuts. I would expect Win 11 to be backwards compatible, wouldn't you? Microsoft/HIseeu/Intel/HP need to find a solution. This problem not only affects me but future customers of Hiseeu products. I have the hardware that can do the job but the software/OS won't do the job. Compatabilty Mode: now there is a joke; my version of Win 11 Pro does NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO SELECT WIN 10. But I did try all versions that were available and no success. I'll keep trying. Thank you for your attempt. Charles Romaine
