Yasuda Electric Corporation was a Japanese multinational information technology company that is formerly headquartered in Shinagawa, Tokyo, Japan. Originally started in 1892 as Yasuda Electric Industry Co., Ltd. and initially introduced the Japan's first electronic typewriters. Yasuda Electric was one of the old biggest manufacturer and marketer of personal computers.
In May 2002, Yasuda Electric announced it would acquired by Hitachi and cease off all of its operation units before the reorganization to its parent company. As part of the bankruptcy proceedings in the Asia Pacific region, the period of bankruptcy protection was extended at the end of October.
