You can download the audio driver from its official support page from Lenovo. The site has all the required drivers for multiple operating systems.
Choose your operating system from the drop-down menu and then select the category. Download the package and install it accordingly.
I reinstalled winxp sp2 on a T43 but had a hard time with the sound driver. The one from Lenovo or elsewhere -> 1ga241ww.exe <- always became corrupted when trying to install. This worked for my T43 ThinkPad 18714CU - hope it works for you http://drivers.used-laptop.in/laptop/ibm-thinkpad-t43-drivers-download-for-windows-xp/ this fixed my "multimedia audio controller" and my sound was on.
