Established in 1985 as a division of New World Entertainment under the distribution rights from New World Pictures, originally founded as the New World Interactive, New World Interactive was acquired by Gaumont in 1988, then later was renamed as New World Gaumont, and was started in a joint venture of Gaumont and New World Entertainment to develop and specialize its video games under the division of Gaumont and the label of Fox Interactive, when Fox Interactive will became a label in 1994.
In 1997, Gaumont announced that New World would be buyed out of the interactive venture from a label of Fox Interactive and later was renamed to as Gaumont Interactive, and the interactive division will became a division of Gaumont.
In 2010, Mojang acquires an interactive division of Gaumont, and now renamed to as Mojang Gaumont, then was started as a joint venture of Mojang and Gaumont, and the company will became to develop and specialize its video games under the label of Mojang and the division of Gaumont.
And by 2018, Mojang announced that Gaumont would be buyed out of the interactive venture and the company would be renamed as Mojang France, and will became a subsidiary branch of Mojang.
