When trying to update my TG6 by the Olympus AGPS utility I receive the following message "Fault during communication with server (80070057) what is goiing wrong and how can a solve the problem because the GPS posibilty was a reason to buy the TG6
greetings Pinoy Luc
It seems that there is a communication issue between the Olympus AGPS utility and the server. The error message "Fault during communication with server (80070057)" suggests that there is a problem with the connection. To solve this issue, you can try the following steps:
The same issue is happen on my TG-4. All SW is on latest version.
Same Same with my TG-4, on two computers with clean software installs. Server issue I'd suggest...
Actually found the answer. Download the OM Workspace software from Olympus. The GPS update option is in the Camera menu (Update GPS Assist Data (worked for my TG-4).
It's also where you can update Firmware if available. https://software.omsystem.com/omworkspace/en/
If you download the Olympus Workspace you are able to update the GPS Data from there! At least for my brand new TG-6 it does. https://download.omsystem.com/pages/owdownload/de/
Same for me with TG-6, it makes it more difficult to use GPS on my camera.
This works now using the Olympus Workspace application. Camera....Update GPS Assist Data
Doesn't work for the older TG-1 camera. Apparently they've stopped providing the GPS Assist data for this camera.
Doesn't work for the TG-860. I'm disappointed.
I have Olympus TG-830. With the new OM Workspace I'm getting error message that my camera is no longer supported. Do you know with what server it's connecting Maybe it will work if I just replace the gwapp.olympus-imaging.com (old server) with the new one in /etc/hosts so the old Olympus A-GPS Utility will be still able to update A-GPS data. Apparently the software has build in block for older cameras and not even trying to connect to web server. Or does anyone know how to manually update it?
