Hardware interface for Lap Timer 2000. Any solutions?

I have Lap Timer 2000 installed on a PC and previously used potential free contacts (reed relay with infra red sensor circuitry installed in the track) to trigger via the Printer port. I need to know the printer port hard wire connections and which setup to use in the program ? (I am rebuilding the setup for my grand kids !)
