Why do some files (.bmp) refuse to display while others that do are named in caps (.BMP)?

I tried to edit and save a bitmap image for Sigma 3000. It won't display. Other bitmap files that do are listed in caps at the end (.BMP) and mine do not. How can it get my file to display?

The issue may be related to the file type. Sigma 3000 may not recognize the file type that you are trying to save and display. Try saving the file as a different type (.jpg, .png, etc.) and see if it will display. If that doesn't work, make sure that you are using the correct file type when saving the file.
