First problem when it comes to Windows 8 is the graphics driver. Although the game is simple, the operating system requires a capable graphics card that is able to run most of the applications. If you have a good graphics card, please update its drivers to the last version from nVidia, AMD or Intel. While trying to run the game, make sure you close unnecessary applications that run in the background.
