How do I save a scanned document as a PDF?

I have a Canon MX360 series multi-function printer and I wonder how I can save a document as a PDF from the scanner.

If you want to scan to PDF then you need to insert a USB flash memory device into a USB port of the printer and the PDF option will become available.

This answer doesn't help because where is the usb port on the printer? There doesn't seem to be a usb port on the printer that allows for a usb flash memory device. The printer usb port only allows for a printer cable not for a flash drive. So, can you please clarify where to connect a usb flash drive onto the computer?
