How to communicate with MPP solar using Watchpower? steps!

I try to connect Watchpower software in laptop win.10 to Mpp solar inverter through ethernet cable. Programme doesn't recognise or rea any thing. Is there any preparation required prior to use the software, I even showed up as guest.
