the conversion is creating multiple files .v02, v03 v04 and fails as hyper v disk

I have run the conversion on a test rig and i get one single 200mb file which worked, now i am running on real machine and i get multiple files no bigger than 4gb and many that are small all counting upwards. How do i merge them back into one file? This seems different behaviour than on my test rig
